Zara Clothier – K.O.P. Mall

At the King of Prussia mall in King of Prussia, PA Holz and Henry inc. was contracted to renovated 34,000 square feet of existing retail space located over 2 floors and 3 existing retail stores. The foremost challenge that was overcome was to complete all of the demolition and other select project tasks during nighttime house when the mall had closed. Public egress pathways and corridors had to be constructed and maintained throughout the construction progress. Throughout the construction process the levels of dirt, odors, and noise were constantly monitored and controlled by mall and H&H staff.

The scope of work included the installation of new demising walls and back-of-house corridors, new pits for hydraulic elevators and an escalator. Extensive structural steel was required to allow for these items. A new 2-story stair tower was constructed as part of the new retail space. Considerable amounts of HVAC and electrical systems modifications and new work were required as well as plumbing and sprinkler systems. Large quantities of steel framing and drywall work were required on each level to prepare the shell space for new store fronts and maintain the required fire rating for the space.
